About · Jacob Taylor

Build capability.
Make change work.

I’m a technology and engineering leader with experience building teams and platforms for growth; and helping organisations adapt when their structure, strategy or technical foundations need to change.

How I work

Business outcomes first.
Technical depth when it matters.

I work across engineering strategy, organisation design, platform architecture and operational delivery. I can engage at board level on direction and trade-offs, then go deep with teams on the systems and decisions that make the plan real.

My experience spans SaaS, retail and payments, regulated industries, data platforms, cloud infrastructure and operationally complex environments. The breadth is useful when it helps me see connections; the point is not breadth for its own sake.

I aim to leave teams with more clarity and capability than they started with: clear ownership, sensible technical guardrails, dependable delivery and fewer decisions that depend on heroics.

01

Build for the next stage.

Growth needs deliberate investment in people, architecture and operating habits, not just more activity.

02

Change without losing trust.

Resets are only successful when customers, teams and stakeholders can see what is changing and why.

03

Make reliability a team capability.

Good systems include ownership, observability and recovery, not only architecture diagrams.

04

Stay close to reality.

Use evidence, listen to the people doing the work and adapt the plan when conditions change.

Engineering leadership roles

Open to conversations with businesses that need to scale engineering, navigate change, or do both without losing sight of the outcome.
